2017 In vitro research prize

Since 2014, the Fondation E. Naef pour la recherche in vitro (FENRIV) joined forces with Fonds Carlo of Fondation Philanthropia to support former winners of the FENRIV prize, researchers who have continued in this field of research.

In 2017, Philanthropia supports the work of Professors Laurent Kaiser and Caroline Tapparel, from the Virology laboratory at Geneva University Hospital, for their research on the flu virus, using tissues cultivated in vitro.

Their work evaluates the feasibility to use nanoparticles to catch the virus and prevent the onset of the disease.
