Helping medical students in Geneva

The Hussenstein Fund awards scholarships to medical students, who are unable to obtain public scholarships or family support, during this lengthy and demanding course of study.

Subject to meeting certain requirements, students may receive assistance amounting to a maximum of CHF 70,000 over six years.

The donor who created the Hussenstein Fund wanted to promote the training of doctors with a pronounced ability to empathise with patients, without being disadvantaged by their social background or financial means.

Philanthropia provided an appropriate framework for a fund with a limited life (around 25 years), but with a major impact for a whole generation of students.
